The Special Enforcement Team is a team of 14 deputies specially trained to perform high-risk operations, including serving search warrants, high-risk arrest warrants, barricaded suspects, hostage rescue, counter-terrorism, and engaging heavily-armed suspects.
The Special Enforcement Team is issued and trained in the use of various specialized firearms and equipment that allow them to operate in extreme conditions.
The Special Enforcement Team trains regularly on a wide variety of tactics and situations to be prepared for any contingency. The team also works with specialized teams from other agencies including the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations tactical team when needed.
The Special Enforcement Team has won three first place trophies in tactical competitions since it’s formulation in 1992.
