court Court Officers (Bailiffs) provide security for the court room and court house and provide general security to the court personnel and the public. These officers maintain order in the court room at all times during judicial hearings and trials. Court Officers are responsible to present prisoners into court and to take custody of prisoners as directed by the court, also returning the prisoners to the detention facility. During hours that the court is not in session all court officers not assigned to the courthouse are utilized to supplement officers to the Patrol, Civil, Narcotics, and Detention Divisions.
